Dog Park

Cricket's Corner Community Dog Park is the first privately owned, off-leash dog park in Encinitas that is open to the public. The dog park gives dogs and their human companions a place to enjoy the great Southern California weather while playing fetch or just relaxing with your pooch on one of our park benches.

For the safety and happiness of you and your companion animal, be sure to read the Dog Park Rules and the Ten Commandments of the Dog Park.

Features:

  • Nearly an acre fenced in.
  • Built-in water fountain (one for you, one for your dog!)
  • Separate, enclosed area for small dogs and puppies (11 weeks and older)
  • Trees and shaded areas for you and your dog.
  • Park benches for the two-legged guests

Park Hours:

If you would like to be notified about dog park activities, changes in dog park hours due to inclement weather, holidays or private events, stop by the front desk and give us your email address or email us via the contact us page.

We’ve all heard someone say, or even said it ourselves, that “My dogs are my kids.”

Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society is working to create a better future for all of our kids, whether they have 2 feet or 4 paws. That’s why our Humane Education program offers “Animal Camp” three times each year.

2013 Summer Animal Camp at RCHS begins Monday, June 24 and continues through Friday, August 16 in our Humane Education center. That’s the building that you pass on your way to Cricket’s Corner Dog Park. Some of our longtime friends and supporters still remember when it was the barn where “Milton Burro” lived.

We’re expecting another jam packed Animal Camp. That means we’re going to need the dog park for camp activities and animal interactions.

So during summer Animal Camp from June 24 through August 16, Cricket’s Corner Dog Park at RCHS will be open regular hours….11 AM to 4:30 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday…but closed Monday through Thursday.

It’s just a temporary thing. On Wednesday, August 21 we’ll go back to the regular Wednesday through Sunday schedule.

Thanks for understanding. You see, for some people “My kids are my dogs!”

The Dog Park is open the following hours (subject to change - see above):

Effective Tuesday, March 27, 2012 the dog park will be open on  the following schedule:

  • Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • The park will be closed every Monday and Tuesday.

We hope you will enjoy the extra day in the park with your canine companion.
