One of RCHS' main goals is the adoption of animals to permanent, loving homes. RCHS' adoption process is tailored to find the best match between pets and people. After finding the perfect match, perspective adopters learn about health care, nutrition requirements, grooming, exercise, responsible pet ownership, socialization and the importance of the human/animal bond.
In April 2003, we launched the grand opening of our new Community Dog Park, Cricket's Corner. The park is almost an acre of enclosed space on the shelter grounds where you can bring your dogs and family to have some fun. Click here for more information and Dog Park rules!
You can provide private playtime or a party for your best friend by reserving Cricket's Corner Community Dog Park! If you're interested in renting Cricket's Corner for events download and complete the rental agreement form or download our flyer.
Adoption isn't all we do! Over 15,000 people benefit every year from our Humane Education programs and workshops. These workshops encourage and reinforce caring and compassion towards animals, and also teach proper companion animal care. We also run programs such as the Animal Safehouse Program which provides temporary foster care for victims of domestic abuse, as well as the Second Chance Program, which gives pets from other shelters a second chance to be adopted.
When residents are moving, remodeling or just house cleaning, they can donate their used items for resale to the RCHS Thrift Shop. This is a fast and easy way for anyone to help support the animals. The Thrift Shop is located at 120 Aberdeen Drive in Cardiff. Click here to learn more!
